Following the success of the previous two editions, places are expected to sell-out fast for this year’s event that will be held at the London headquarters of satellite communications company Inmarsat on Friday 29 June 2007 .

The charismatic Mickey Charles, President and CEO of realtime sports wire service The Sports Network, will provide the afternoon opening keynote address, drawing on his wealth of expertise in the digital sports marketplace. Based in Philadelphia in the USA , Charles is an attorney by training, has previously owned an advertising agency and was responsible for introducing a sports premium rate phone service to the USA .

Charles has also been a syndicated columnist, radio talk show host for CBS (sports), a TV host for a sports talk show for ESPN (hosted by Caesars Palace in Las Vegas ) and was the founder of Computer Information Network, Inc. The Sports Network has become a dominant force on the internet as both a source for information and as the branding arm for sports pages on more sites worldwide than any other company. Charles will address the audience on the subject: ‘How has digital technology improved sport?’

In addition to illuminating keynote addresses, Sport and Technology: The Conference 2007 will include panel discussions on ‘Convergence’, ‘Protecting Digital Assets and the Rise of Social Networking Sites’, ‘Venues as Television Studios’ and ‘Technology versus Referees’, thus continuing to present areas of importance to both rights owners and technology companies. Delegates will also enjoy an evening cocktail party with charity raffle, both of which have been popular at the event since its inception in 2005.

Sport and Technology: The Conference will be the must-attend event of 2007 for all those working in the sports industry.
